Board of Commissioners gains three new members
Welcome to Hood River County’s new chair and two commissioners who joined the Board of Commissioners on January 1. They are Chair Jennifer Euwer, Commissioner Leti Moretti for District 1 and Commissioner Ed Weathers for District 3. They join Commissioner Arthur Babitz of District 2 and Les Perkins, commissioner of District 4 to make up the County’s Board of Commissioners. READ MORE HERE>
Courthouse Security Vestibule
Hood River County Courthouse’s new, secure entrance opened officially on January 9th. The new vestibule requires all visitors to go through security screening before entering the facility. Screening, like that performed by TSA at airports with x-ray and metal detector equipment, is meant to ensure weapons and contraband are not brought into the building. READ MORE HERE>
Parkdale Community Planning Process Continues
Hood River County Community Development is involved in a planning process to designate Parkdale as a rural unincorporated community in compliance with Statewide Planning Goal 14 (Urbanization). Community meetings, a community survey and analysis, draft comprehensive plan amendments, and public hearings are included in this planning process. READ MORE HERE>
2023 Forest Trails Parking Permits on sale after successful rollout in 2022
2023 Parking Permits for Hood River County Forest staging areas are now available for purchase at hoodrivercounty.net/parking-passes. The permit is for parking in Fee Parking Zones and is not for entry, recreational use or access to any County Property. READ MORE HERE>
Public Health Nurse McKenna Carter
With a smart, friendly demeanor McKenna Carter, R.N., B.S.N., had many opportunities for a nursing career. The young woman thought public health nursing would be a good steppingstone for her first nursing job.
