WORK PARTIES:

Trail work parties take place at different times throughout each year and are organized by the Hood River County (HRC) Forestry Department, local clubs, trail adopters, and sometimes citizens. The purpose of these activities is to perform trail and staging area maintenance and sometimes construct new trails.

Volunteers are always welcome and needed to participate in these projects. Those who take part will be asked to complete an HRC Volunteer Waiver Form and a form verifying the hours contributed toward each project (found below). A record of the information is generally submitted to grant agencies to help satisfy County 'in-kind' (match) requirements.

The Forestry Department has a supply of trail hand tools that can be loaned out for use during work parties. The work is usually scheduled for Saturday's or Sunday's from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Sometimes a motorcycle or bicycle ride or other related activity is held after the work is completed.
