 Hood River County Public Safety Levy is up for renewal

Hood River County’s Public Safety Levy is set to expire on June 30, 2025. In the upcoming November 2024 General Election, voters will decide whether to renew the levy for another five years. During a special meeting on July 18th, the Hood River County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution to refer the proposed Public Safety Levy renewal to County voters. The renewal aims to ensure that essential public safety services and related services continue at their current levels. READ MORE HERE>

 County partnership addresses the dangers of opioids

A year ago, the Hood River County Health Department and Hood River Prevention Department partnered to offer naloxone prevention training in the County. In the last year, around 600 community members have been trained on how to prevent opioid overdoses. READ MORE HERE>

 2024 Chip Seal Program Improved Heavily Used Routes

Hood River County’s 2024 Chip Seal Project improved several heavily traveled County roads in the last two weeks of June. Completion work scheduled for mid-July includes applying a final “fog seal,” a light coat of oil that dries quickly, and road striping. READ MORE HERE>

 Cascade Locks Justice Court serves Hood River County

Many minor violations received in Hood River County, such as traffic, boating, and wildlife, are likely processed through Hood River County’s Justice Court in Cascade Locks. These include citations issued by Oregon State Police, the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, the O.D.O.T. Weigh Master, and the Department of Fish and Wildlife. READ MORE HERE>
