A SOLAR Night meeting was held at the historic Mt. Hood Town Hall on Wednesday, April 10th to discuss plans to build resiliency in the Upper Valley by developing a solar-powered building to serve the community in the event of a power outage. READ MORE HERE>

On February 26th, a collaborative event called "Hope and Healing" Town Hall was organized to promote community wellness. The event was intended to provide parents, young people, and their connections with the necessary tools to recognize grief, learn from community members about their healing processes, and highlight the resources available in our community. A clean-up plan for the Powerdale Corridor was accepted by the Hood River County Board of Commissioners at its March 18th work session and business meeting. The consent followed multiple presentations about the impacts of unauthorized camping and other activities that have resulted in abandoned campsites and trash over recent years, while actions to prevent future unauthorized use were discussed. Hood River County Community Development’s planning process to designate Parkdale as a rural unincorporated community has been temporarily paused for staff to learn more about the condition and operation of the Parkdale Wastewater Treatment Plant as well as Oregon Department of Environmental (DEQ) regulations under which it may operate.
