News from the Health Department
COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic on March 11, 2020 by the World Health Organization. The Hood River County Health Department has worked to make resources available throughout the county, collaborating with the Oregon Health Authority and local partners to keep our community healthy and safe. With vaccinations and boosters now prevalent, social and economic behaviors are gradually returning to a pre-pandemic state. We’ll continue to learn to live with COVID like we do the flu as we move into an endemic. This means the disease outbreak will continue to be consistently present, yet the disease spread and rates will become more predictable.
