Human Resources

Hood River County Human Resources Department is responsible for all personnel-related services for county employment including Equal Employment Opportunity and Workforce Diversity laws and plans through a variety of program areas.  These include recruitment and selection processes, personnel policies and procedures development, risk management and insurance benefit programs, classification and compensation analysis, labor and employee relations compliance with labor and civil rights law, collective bargaining contract negotiation and implementation, and personnel records maintenance.

Hood River County recruits to fill vacant positions as they occur, or draw from established lists of qualified applicants who have met job requirements and passed applicable tests within six months from a solicited vacancy closing date.

Hood River County strives to ensure that every employment opportunity is available to anyone interested based on job related qualifications.  We are an equal opportunity employer and therefore, non-job-related characteristics such as disability, age, gender, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, and religion are not considerations in the hiring process.  All candidates for solicited vacancies must complete a Hood River County Application to be considered for employment.  Resumes are not accepted in lieu of the application.
