Event Permits on County Forestry Property


Hood River County welcomes all recreational activities. However, some activities will require a special event permit.


Special Event means any planned assembly of persons on County Property, for which any of the following criteria apply:

• Participation in the event may reasonably be expected to exceed a total of twenty-five (25) attendees:
• The event is marketed or advertised to the public to encourage attendance;
• There is a fee charged to attend, view or participate in the event;
• The event requires the temporary closure of a road, trail or other property under County jurisdiction;
• The event utilizes signage, flagging or social media to direct foot, bike, equestrian or vehicular traffic over roads, trails staging areas or other property under County jurisdiction.

Events will not be scheduled on holidays or over a holiday weekend. 

Special Event Permit season is May 1st through October 19th.
