May 19th, 2026 Primary Election Important Voter Dates
September 10th, 2025 - Number of Precinct Committeepersons per precinct calculated.
September 11th, 2025 - First day for major party or nonpartisan candidate to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition. Includes precinct committeeperson.
September 11th, 2025 - Last day for partisan candidate to register as member of major political party to satisfy 180-day membership requirement.
March 3rd, 2026 - Last day for incumbent candidates to file a declaration on candidacy or nominating petition per HB 4024 Section 17b. (Does not apply to PCP's)
March 10th, 2026 - Last Day for candidates to file a declaration of candidacy or nominating petition.
March 13th, 2026 - Last day to withdraw candidacy.
April 3rd, 2026 - Military & overseas ballots mailed.
April 6th, 2026 - Absentee ballots are available at the Hood River County Elections office.
April 20th, 2026 - Out of state ballots mailed.
April 28th, 2026 - Last day to register to vote or change party affiliation. New Oregon voters can register to vote online at oregonvotes.gov, mail a voter registration form, or register in person.
April 29th, 2026 - Local ballots mailed to voters
May 14th, 2026 - Last day Elections Official to mail replacement or absentee ballots to voters.
May 19th, 2026 - Primary Election Day - The Hood River County election office is open from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8:00 pm on election day. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked before 8:00 pm on election day.
