November 3rd, 2026, General Election Important Voter Dates
June 3, 2026 - First day to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition for local offices
July 16, 2026 - First day for district candidate to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition
August 14, 2026 - Last day for governing body to file referral text or prepared ballot title in order to complete challenge period by deadline to file notice of measure election.
August 18, 2026 - Deadline for elected incumbents to file Declaration of Candidacy.
August 25, 2026 - Last day to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition for local offices
August 25, 2026 - Last day for district candidate to file declaration of candidacy or nominating petition or to withdraw
August 28, 2026 - Last day for candidate, other than district candidate to withdraw
September 3, 2026 - Last day to file or withdraw notice of measure election and any required explanatory statement
September 18, 2026 - Military & overseas ballots mailed
September 21, 2026 - Absentee ballots available at the Hood River County Elections office
October 5, 2026 - Out of state ballots mailed
October 13, 2026 - Voter Registration Deadline. New Oregon voters can register to vote online at oregonvotes.gov, mail a voter registration form, or register in person.
October 14, 2026 - Local ballots mailed to voters
October 29, 2026 - Last day Elections Official to mail replacement or absentee ballots to voters. It is recommended that voters come into the office after this date to assure they get a ballot on time
November 3rd, 2026 - General Election Day - The Hood River County election office is open from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8:00 pm on election day. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked before 8:00 pm on election day.
