Board of Commissioners gains three new members
Welcome to Hood River County’s new chair and two commissioners who joined the Board of Commissioners on January 1. They are Chair Jennifer Euwer, Commissioner Leti Moretti for District 1 and Commissioner Ed Weathers for District 3. They join Commissioner Arthur Babitz of District 2 and Les Perkins, commissioner of District 4 to make up the County’s Board of Commissioners.

Board Chair Jennifer Euwer
Jennifer Euwer is a Hood River native who owns and manages an orchard in the Hood River Valley. She previously served on the Hood River County Planning Commission, was a board member of Middle Fork Irrigation District, and a member of Statewide Migrant Head Start.

Commissioner Leti Valle Moretti
Leti Valle Moretti, born and raised in Hood River, is a training and development specialist at One Community Health. She has served on the Hood River County Planning Commission, Hood River County Transportation District, and is on the Historic Columbia River Highway Advisory Committee.

Commissioner Ed Weathers
Ed Weathers, also a Hood River native, is president and sales manager of Duckwall Fruit. He previously served on Hood River County’s Planning Commission, Hood River City Council, both city and county budget committees, and was a board member for West Side Rural Fire District.
Retiring from the Board of Commissioners are Chair Mike Oates, after serving since December 2019; Commissioner Karen Joplin serving District 1 since 2011; and Commissioner Bob Benton serving District 3 since 2006.
