Title VI

Hood River County assures that no person shall be excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of any County program or activity on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex, per Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and related statutes. Also, no person shall be subjected to discrimination per Title VI.

Title VI complain
If you believe that you have not been treated equally by Hood River County due to your race, national origin, gender, disability, income, or ability to speak or understand English, you have the right to file a discrimination complaint with the County.

Accessibility & Title VI (ADA) 

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a federal law signed in 1990, mandates equal access and reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities in employment, government services, public accommodations (such as stores and restaurants) and transportation.

Title II of the ADA outlines the responsibilities of local governments to make their employment and customer service settings accessible. Other laws that cover nondiscrimination and disability access include the Oregon State Law Against Discrimination Rule 27 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
